Description of Bactenecin (bovine) (trifluoroacetate salt)

Bactenecin is a cyclic cationic peptide with antimicrobial activity.1 It is found in bovine neutrophils. Bactenecin is active against the bacteria E. coli and S. aureus (IC50s = 8 and 32 mg/ml, respectively) and the fungus C. albicans (MIC = 64 mg/ml).2
