NADP+ ist die oxidierte Form des Elektronendonors Nicotinamidadenindinukleotidphosphat. NADP+ ist zusammen mit seiner reduzierten Form, dem reduzierten NADPH, an der Aufrechterhaltung des Redox-Gleichgewichts sowie der Unterstützung der Biosynthese von Fettsäuren und Nukleinsäuren beteiligt [1].
NADP+, ein strukturelles Analogon von NAD+, wird durch die Übertragung einer Phosphatgruppe von ATP auf die 2′-Hydroxygruppe des Adenosin-Ribose-Rests von NAD+ synthetisiert. Diese Reaktion wird durch NADKs katalysiert [2]. NADP+ fungiert als Kofaktor in verschiedenen biologischen Reaktionen [3]. NADP+/NADPH spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Regulierung des zellulären Redox-Zustands, des Energiestoffwechsels, der mitochondrialen Funktion, der Genexpression und der Signalwege. NADP+/NADPH sind essentiell für die Aufrechterhaltung einer Vielzahl biologischer Prozesse [3,4,5].
