A-485은 강력하고 선택적인 p300/CBP（히스톤 아세틸전이효소/CREB 결합 단백질）의 촉매 억제제로 p300 HAT에 대한 IC50가 60nM이다. A-485은 p300-BHC（브로모도메인 HAT-C/H3）와 CBP-BHC 도메인의 활동을 IC50 9.8nM와 2.6nM로 억제한다. A-485은 특정 선상 종양 유형의 증식을 선택적으로 억제하고 혈액학 암증과 안드로겐 수용체 양성 전립선암을 포함한다[1-2].
A-485은 농도에 따라 PC3 세포에서 아세틸화 히스톤 H3 라이신 27 (H3K27Ac) 수준을 EC50 73nM으로 낮추는데 H3K9Ac에 대한 영향은 매우 작은다 (EC50 > 10mM) [1]. A-485은 세 가지 흑색종 세포군 (WM2664, SKMEL5, A375 세포)에서 H3K27Ac에 대한 억제 효과를 IC50 0.59, 0.93, 0.96μM으로 각각 나타낸다. A-485은 민감한 흑색종 세포군 WM2664과 SKMEL5에서 세포 노화를 유도하지만 저항성 A375 세포에서는 비슷한 효과를 관찰하지 못했다 [3].
LuCaP-77 CR 쥐 이종 이식 모델에서 A-485은 100mg/kg의 용량으로 21일 동안 투여하여 종양 부피를 54% 감소시켰다 [1]. GH3 세포 이종 이식 누드 쥐 모델에서 A-485은 종양 부피(50mg/kg 그룹에서 32.37%를 억제, 100mg/kg 그룹에서 54.15%를 억제)와 종양 무게(50mg/kg 그룹에서 43.83%를 억제, 100mg/kg 그룹에서 61.41%를 억제)를 현저하게 억제할 수 있다 [4].
