Sarcosin (N-Methylglycin), eine endogene AminosÄure, ist ein kompetitiver Inhibitor des Glycin-Transporters Typ I (GlyT1) und ein Co-Agonist des N-Methyl-D-Aspartat (NMDA)-Rezeptors. Sarcosin erhÖht die Glycinkonzentration, was zu einer indirekten Potenzierung des NMDA-Rezeptors fÜhrt. Sarkosin wird hÄufig fÜr die Erforschung von Schizophrenie verwendet.
