3'O-Allyl-Uridine-5'-triphosphate (3'O-Allyl-UTP) is a nucleic acid analog of UTP and a good substrate for RNA polymerase. In the structure of 3'O-Allyl-UTP, the 3'-OH group of UTP is replaced by an allyl group, and its incorporation into the synthesis process will cause the polymerase reaction to terminate[1] [2]. Allyl groups can be removed by using catalytic deallylation.
