Ascochin is an isocoumarin derivative and fungal metabolite that has been found in Ascochyta.1 It is active against the bacterium B. megaterium, the plant pathogenic fungus M. violaceum, and the alga C. fusca in an agar diffusion assay when used at a concentration of 0.5 mg/disc.
