Fluorescent dye-labeled ω-Conotoxin GVIA from the venom of the fish-hunting cone snail C. geographus, excitation at 649nm, emission at 664nm. Tide Fluor™ 5WS shows strong fluorescence and excellent photostability. The venom of the cone snail efficiently blocks neuronal calcium channels. This presynaptic inhibition of calcium influx prevents the voltage-activated release of acetylcholine.
