XAO

XAO (xanthine oxidase), also known as xanthine oxidoreductase and xanthine dehydrogenase, catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and the oxidation of xanthine to uric acid. It is an evolutionarily conserved enzymes that play a central role in purine catabolism.
