Tedizolid-13C-d3 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of tedizolid by GC- or LC-MS. Tedizolid is an oxazolidinone antibiotic and active metabolite of the antibiotic tedizolid phosphate .1 Tedizolid phosphate is converted to tedizolid by phosphatases in vivo. It is active against a wide variety of clinical isolates, including isolates of methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA), E. faecalis, and penicillin-susceptible S. pneumoniae (MICs = 0.5, 0.5, and 0.25 µg/ml, respectively), as well as isolates of anaerobic bacteria (MICs = 0.25-4 µg/ml). Tedizolid protects against mortality in a mouse model of systemic methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) infection (ED50 = 8.8 mg/kg).2
