BODIPY493/503 methyl bromide is a type of BODIPY dye. BODIPY dyes are small molecule dyes with strong UV absorption capabilities, sharp fluorescence peaks, and high quantum yields. They are relatively stable under different physiological conditions due to their insensitivity to environmental polarity and pH values. Due to the asymmetry of its structure, BODIPY has multiple derivative structures. BODIPY lipid droplet dyes can penetrate cell membranes well and enter the interior of cells for specific staining on polar lipids in cells. Therefore, this dye can be used to label live cells and fixed cells. The maximum excitation/emission wavelength is 493/503 nm.
