Description Chemical Properties Product Documents

Prostaglandin F-d9 (PGF.-d9) contains nine deuterium atoms at the 17, 17', 18, 18', 19, 19', 20, 20, and 20 positions. It is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of PGF by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry. PGF is the putative metabolite of dihomo-γ-linolenic acid (DGLA) via the cyclooxygenase (COX) pathway. Both PGF and PGF have been shown to act as priming pheromones for male Atlantic salmon with a threshold concentration of 10-11 M.1 PGF binds to the ovine corpus luteum FP receptor at only 8% of the relative potency of PGF.2 It is only half as active as PGF in inducing human respiratory smooth muscle contractions in vitro.3
