Description of Sabatolimab

Sabatolimab (MBG453) is a high-affinity, humanized, IgG4 (S228P) antibody targeting TIM-3, an inhibitory receptor that regulates adaptive and innate immune responses. Sabatolimab is a potential immunosuppression agent that can target TIM-3 on immune and myeloid cells[1].

Sabatolimab enhances the immune response by blocking the binding of TIM-3 to its ligands (such as PtdSer and galectin-9), thereby relieving the inhibition of T cells and myeloid cells by T cells, enhancing T cell-mediated killing of TIM-3+ cells, promoting the secretion of inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-12 and TNFα) by dendritic cells (DCs), and promoting macrophage phagocytosis of TIM-3+ cells[2].
