ACTH (6-24) is a peptide fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone , a peptide hormone found in the brain that is involved in the biological stress response. ACTH (6-24) is a competitive inhibitor of steroidogenesis induced by ACTH (1-39) and ACTH (5-24) with mean Kd values of 13.4 and 3.4 nM, respectively. It also inhibits corticosterone production and cAMP accumulation induced by human parathyroid hormone (1-34) when used at a concentration of 100 nM.
