Dopastin is a bacterial metabolite that has been found in Pseudomonas and an inhibitor of dopamine β-hydroxylase (Ki = 4.7 µM).1,2 In vivo, dopastin (20 mg/kg) reduces mean systolic blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rats. Dopastin also inhibits the germination of barley seeds (IC50 = 47 µM).2
