Description of L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt)

L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt) (AA2P) is a stable VC(vitamin C) derivative[1]. It can stimulate the expression and formation of collagen[2].

L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt) (100-500μM; 24 h) attenuates MeHg-induced apoptosis by alleviating ROS-mediated DNA damage in SH-SY5Y cell [3]. L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt) (0.25-1mM) repressed dihydrotestosterone (DHT)-induced DHT-inducible dickkopf-1 (DKK-1) protein expression[4]. L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt) (250μM; 5-60min) co-treatment with FGF-2 induced optimal proliferation of Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSC) and increased the accumulation rate of BMSC numbers during a 2-month culture period[5]. IGF-1 mRNA in Dermal papilla (DP) cells was upregulated and IGF-1 protein in the conditioned medium of DP cells was significantly increased after treatment with L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt), L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt)-inducible IGF-1 from DP cells promotes proliferation of follicular keratinocytes and stimulates hair follicle growth in vitro via PI3K[6].

L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt)  regulate mesenchymal–epithelial interactions in the hair follicle and promote hair growth in mice models[7].

Protocol of L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt)

Cell experiment [1]:

Cell lines

SH-SY5Y cells

Preparation method

SH-SY5Y cells were first prepared with 100-500 μM L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate in 1×PBS and treated with 1 μM MeHg for 24 h.

Reaction Conditions

100-500μM; 24 h

Applications

L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt) decreases MeHg-induced ROS accumulation in cells in a dose-dependent manner.

Animal experiment [2]:

Animal models

C57BL/6 mice

Preparation method

Mice back skins were shaved at 7 weeks of age (telogen stage) and then vehicle or L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate at 250 mM were applied by iontophoresis. The unique iontophoresis system was adapted, which provides a constant electric current of 0.1-1.0 mA/cm2 areas. Lontophoresis was performed for 15 min at 0.2-0.4 mV constant currents daily for 4 weeks.

Applications

L-Ascorbic Acid 2-phosphate (magnesium salt)  regulate mesenchymal–epithelial interactions in the hair follicle and promote hair growth in mice models.
